Begin with the study plan
A single-vial format can suit preliminary method development, reference work or a limited experiment. A multi-vial kit may suit repeated experiments or projects that require multiple sealed units from the same labeled format.
Consider inventory control
Researchers should compare total quantity, vial size, batch information, storage capacity and expected use period. More material is useful only when it can be stored correctly and incorporated into a documented research plan.
Keep records at vial level
Record lot identifiers, receipt dates, storage locations and the date each vial is opened. Good inventory practice improves traceability regardless of package size.
