Purity has a defined scope
Chromatographic purity evaluates the composition visible under a specified separation and detection method. It does not automatically establish sterility, endotoxin level, elemental composition or absence of every contaminant.
Different risks require different tests
Endotoxin testing addresses bacterial lipopolysaccharides. Sterility testing evaluates detectable microbial growth under defined conditions. Elemental analysis can screen for selected heavy metals. Each test has its own sampling requirements, limits and interpretation.
Match testing to the research context
There is no single universal panel for every compound and every project. Laboratories should define specifications based on material type, intended experimental context and applicable institutional procedures.
